Karl X Byrne is a DJ, radio presenter and producer, promoter, band agent and graphic designer, and is also said to be "Ireland's only male burlesque performer" (occasionally)!
In the past Karl organised and promoted secret events and surprise parties in and around Dublin for several years. Starting out as a barman, Karl soon progressed to running an underground wine-bar in Temple-Bar and soon after took on the challenge of The Speakeasy accoustic nights.
Through his close association with X-dream Entertainments and Eyewobble Promotions (Messy & Sanfrandisco @ Club Mono) in 2001 & 2002, he quickly climbed the slippy Dublin social ladder and began refining the art of organising his own events.
From the infamously smoky "club", with a jacuzzi on the dance floor, to the exclusive couch-filled Strawberry Studios warehouse events, this man always excels in his field.

He has been heavily involved in alternative events in our capital. KXB has also had reliably successful input into shows in Gubu and the Sugar Club. Co-creating, producing & managing the popular Divalution Shows and several other projects have elevated him even more (Tassel Club review).

His talent has also become apparent in his DJing over the last five years. During this time Karl has been resident DJ and Musical Director for The Tassel Club, for The Spirit of Burlesque, for Simply Spectacular, and is now a regular on the corporate circuit. He also now has his own radio show on Dublin's Liffey Sound FM.

On radio, Karl started with the Oneworld Show on Dublin South FM, a half hour world music program and has now moved to Liffey Sound FM, with his own 2 hour show (running from 10-midnight every Tuesday). The show is called "The Speakeasy", taken from the name of one of his "late-night" clubs he used to run (say no more ;)

Having DJed at Gospel Choir gigs and Burlesque shows alike, Karl has proved himself to be very versatile, often tailoring a set to suit the needs of a particular show or event. Karl also has a library of sound effects and can create and edit special segments for shows, for festive events and for radio adverts.
Karl has also recently started a sound and lighting hire business and with rigs from 500 to 5K watts, he is sure to have something suitable for most occasions.
With extensive contacts in the industry Karl can put together a team to meet any challenge or event and can provide, bands, singers, performers, technical staff etc. If Karl cant do it himself, you can bet he knows someone who can.

Venues and events Karl has DJed at include: The Spiegel Tent (Fringe Festival), The Sugar Club, Spirit, The Trinity Ball, The Westin Hotel, The Voodoo Lounge, City Hall (Jolie launch, Dame St.), The National Stadium (Russel Brand), The Maynooth Freshers Ball, The Odessa Club, Montagues (Broadway, Da Pere, Wisconsin, USA), No Fit State Circus, The Laughter Lounge (Bulmers Comedy Festival '07), The Hub, The Mezz, Soul 28, Castle Palooza, Georges (Baggot St, Dublin), Gubu, Inn On The Park, Craw Daddy and The Lobby Bar, Habitat (Launch night, College Green, Dublin), Crane Lane Theatre (Gypsy Hotel, Cork) The Savoy (Cork), Soho Revue Bar (BurlesqueFestival 2008, London), plus Karl has made many trips to play in The Pigalle Club (Piccadilly Circus, London), including for their launch night (The Pigalle Club opened with a performance by the "Queen of British Burlesque" Immodesty Blaize, attracting rave reviews and such stars and celebrities as Jane Russell, Christian Slater, Dita Von Teese, Ben Onono, Alex Kingston from E.R. and Orlando Bloom!!).
